By-Laws

BY-LAWS of the GREAT BASIN MATHEMATICS COUNCIL ARTICLE I  EXECUTIVE BOARD: Section 1:  The Executive Board shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and one National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Representative. Section 2:  Representatives to the Nevada Mathematics Council for two-year terms shall be the President and NCTM Representative of the Great Basin Mathematics Council.  One representative to the Nevada Mathematics Council (NMC) should complete his/her term each year. Section 3:  The NMC Representatives shall be responsible for maintaining open communications with the Nevada Mathematics Council and other state affiliated groups and disseminating information or affiliate materials for the GBMC Executive Board and membership. ARTICLE II  ELECTION OF OFFICERS: Section 1:  All officers of the Great Basin Mathematics Council will be elected to two-year terms.  The NCTM Representative and President will be elected in alternating years for the purposes of continuity of representation to the Nevada Mathematics Council. Section 2: Vacancies of officers will be appointed by the GBMC Executive Board. ARTICLE III  AMENDMENTS: These by-laws may be amended by a majority of those voting provided notice of the proposed amendment has been given previously.
